Hello, I’m Manoj - the luckiest Photographer and Fixer alive!

I am Manoj, a cultural and documentary photographer based in Varanasi, one of the oldest living cities in the world. While Varanasi is my home, my photography journey extends across many cities and regions of India, where I spend long periods of time observing, listening, and understanding life beyond the surface.
I did not learn photography in a school or classroom. I learned it from life — by walking the streets, by traveling again and again to the same places, and by working closely with people and communities. Over the years, I have worked alongside and assisted well-known international photographers during workshops and long-term projects. Those experiences shaped not only my photographic skills, but also my way of seeing, respecting, and telling stories.
My work is deeply connected to India’s spiritual and cultural landscape. I have spent many years photographing and understanding the lives of Sadhus, Naga Sadhus, Aghoris, and tribal communities. This time was not about quick images, but about patience, trust, and presence. I have also spent countless hours on the streets — early mornings, late evenings, returning to the same locations — to understand the rhythm, emotions, and unseen stories of everyday India.
Today, I share this experience through one-to-one photography sessions and small group photography tours across India. These journeys are designed for photographers who want to go deeper — not only to photograph India’s colors and chaos, but to understand its silence, spirituality, and human connection.
You are welcome to join my photography tours not just to take photographs, but to learn, exchange ideas, and grow together. I share my on-ground knowledge, personal experience, and practical guidance to help you improve your photography, develop confidence, and create meaningful images with strong stories behind them.
India is powerful, complex, colorful, and emotional. My aim is to help you experience it honestly — and to return home not only with photographs, but with memories, understanding, and stories that stay with you for life.
